Shift: 1st (5:30 AM-3pm M-TH, 2pm Every Other Friday

Requirements

• 1-year experience in tool fabrication, or 2 year degree or certificate in tooling/machining from a recognized education organization, and 1-3 years increasing experience or 4 – 6 years increasing experience in a tool room environment.
• Must be able to read blueprints and sketches, and understand tolerances and their effects on machining parts.
• Should be familiar with secondary finishing operations such as heat treating and tempering and their effects on parts so as to take those operations into consideration when fabricating tooling.

 

Responsibilities

• Assemble new tooling and dies from machined subcomponents.
• Sharpen and troubleshoot trim tools to make sure they meet print requirements and cut consistently.
• Following safe work practices, perform tight tolerance machining of tools using typical toolroom equipment such as lathes, mills and surface grinders.
• Work with Engineering to design and develop tooling and equipment upgrades to reduce costs, improve productivity or part manufacturability.
