Title:  Inspection Supervisor

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports to: SUPERVISOR

Payroll Status: Non-Exempt

Agile is looking for qualified candidates that specializes in Inspection Supervisory

 

Essential Job Duties:

Basic Function:

To ensure the daily inspection processes are fully functional and effective in quality control and assure products meet all specifications and quality requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

 

-Supervise all activities of the Quality Inspection team.

  • Ensure a positive, safe workplace environment and respect for all staff, customers and suppliers is maintained at all times.

  • Ensure performance to all internal and external quality specifications and expectations.

  • Understand, communicate daily priorities and ensure they are actioned accordingly.

  • Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed to ensure response actions are timely.

  • Ensure inspection team is trained in incoming, in-process and final and First Article inspection processes and procedures.

    • Ensure inspections are completed using J-STD-001 and IPC-620 standards and inspection logs are properly maintained.

  • Coordinate inspection activities taking into account daily schedule, priorities communicated from Buyers and the Quality Manager.

  • Gather data and create charts and distribute worksheets as required, including Quality KPIs.

  • Ensure NC / RMA / MRB activities including completion of forms and logs are being properly maintained.

  • Assist production supervisors with Quality data bases, inspection results and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Perform incoming, in-process and final inspection duties on various types of cable assemblies, harnesses and mechanical assemblies, as needed to support the daily operations of the facility.

 

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • HS Diploma / Associates Degree or Equivalent

  • Prior quality control experience required (2 yrs preferred)

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Specific Requirements

  • Able to communicate and work well with co-workers.

  • Must be able to read, interpret / understand drawings and wiring schematics.

  • Knowledge in use of mechanical measuring equipment and tools. i.e.: calipers, scales (rulers) and microscopes.

  • Must have working knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC-620 requirements.

  • Intermediate or better knowledge of computer functionality and office software including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Position involves lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, reaching and using measuring devices involving fine hand motion and a high degree of visual acuity.  Due to the nature of the position and the level of noise, safety glasses and other PPE will be required.

 

 

Environment Working Conditions:

 

Work is performed in a clean and orderly manufacturing and quality laboratory environment.  Floor mats, hand tools and measurement devices such as micrometers and calipers are provided for ease in performing inspection tasks.  Employees are responsible for safeguarding tools and measurement devices and for maintaining their work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.   A variety of chemicals such as paintable mold releases, rubbing alcohol and other solvents and chemicals are used in the manufacturing process.  Some work tasks or movement within the facility may include exposure to these substances.  The employee is introduced to the Hazard Communication Program, Safety Rules and Emergency Exit procedures during the introductory period of training. Personal Protective Equipment which the employee may be introduced to include safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, goggles, ear muffs, finger cots, aprons, protective sleeves and masks. Employees are responsible for wearing any Personal Protective Equipment, which may be required in performing certain tasks.  The employee must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position without posing a direct threat to his or her health and safety or to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
