Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent experience.  A minimum of one year’s experience. 

  • One year of solder experience and a previous soldering certificate is required. 

  • Visual acuity is sufficient for work that deals largely with mechanical assembly and/or visual inspection involving small parts/defects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Reads Bill of Materials and Work Instructions to determine what is required for each reducer/lamination.  Verifies parts kit to Bill of Materials. 

  • Cleans ceramics and syntactic foam with an electric eraser, isopropyl alcohol, and paper towels. 

  • Prepares cut wire with the use of an Eraser brush-wire stripper.  Pre-tins stripped wire. 

  • Soldiers appropriate size solder spots on the negative side of ceramic to ensure proper fit to syntactic foam notch. 

  • Solders wire(s) to solder spot(s) using care to maintain original solder spot size about syntactic foam notch requirements. 

  • Weighs and mixes epoxy for lamination use between ceramic and syntactic foam disks.  

  • Cures elements in the oven for the appropriate length of time.  

  • Tests frequency using digital test equipment, Mode 1 program. 

  • Soldiers additional wires to element, as required. 

  • Weighs and mixes urethane foam.  Fills reducer assemblies with foam using care to ensure foam properly covers element and o-ring. 

  • Cures foamed airducers in the oven for the appropriate length of time. 

  • Assembles connector to housing cap and solders wires to connector pins, as required.
