This is a full-time temp-to-hire opportunity, paying $15.90 – $21.50 DOE per hour based on experience.

Under close supervision laminates ceramic and syntactic foam disks, solders, assembles, foams, and back-fills reducers.  Observes all safety regulations including personal protective equipment applicable to the use of electrical tooling and equipment and applicable to handling chemicals (flux, isopropyl alcohol, epoxies, solder, and urethane foam) and propane torches. 

What you will be going:

  1. Reads Bill of Materials and Work Instructions to determine what is required for each reducer/lamination.  Verifies parts kit to Bill of Materials. 

  2. Cleans ceramics and syntactic foam with an electric eraser, isopropyl alcohol, and paper towels. 

  3. Prepares cut wire with the use of an Eraser brush-wire stripper.  Pre-tins stripped wire. 

  4. Soldiers appropriate size solder spots on the negative side of ceramic to ensure proper fit to syntactic foam notch. 

  5. Solders wire(s) to solder spot(s) using care to maintain original solder spot size about syntactic foam notch requirements. 

  6. Weighs and mixes epoxy for lamination use between ceramic and syntactic foam disks.  

  7. Laminates ceramic disk to foam disk.  Operates press to secure disks together.  Places laminated element in appropriate fixturing using care to maintain straightness of element, secures in a fixture with torque driver, as required. 

  8. Cures elements in the oven for the appropriate length of time.  

  9. Tests frequency using digital test equipment, Mode 1 program. 

  10. Soldiers additional wires to element, as required. 

  11. Places o-rings onto elements and insert elements into reducer housings using appropriate fixtures, as required and using care to ensure proper placement. 

  12. Weighs and mixes urethane foam.  Fills reducer assemblies with foam using care to ensure foam properly covers element and o-ring. 

  13. Cures foamed airducers in the oven for the appropriate length of time. 

  14. Assembles connector to housing cap and solders wires to connector pins, as required. 

  15. Positions housing cap in place.  Obtains epoxy from pour room and back-fills airducer using care not to overfill. 

  16. Operates propane torch to de-gas curing epoxy. 

  17. Places completed airducers into appropriate containers and forwards to tuning operation.  Tunes airducers by placing into semi-automatic equipment and alternating cutting and testing operations until the desired performance is achieved. 

  18. Places unit in pin stamper for P/N and date identification. 

What we require from you:

  1. High school education or equivalent experience.  A minimum of one year’s experience. 

  2. One year of solder experience and a previous soldering certificate is required. 

  3. Visual acuity is sufficient for work that deals largely with mechanical assembly and/or visual inspection involving small parts/defects. 

  4. Ability to wear protective clothing such as gloves, safety glasses, and or safety shoes as required. 

  5. Ability to perform repetitive or routine duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures. 

  6. Ability to endure periods of heavy workload. 

  7. Ability to work with assemblies up to 20 lbs.
